The Tale of Two Turkey Hunters

Well, Jason finally persuaded me to go turkey hunting with him this year and it was definitely worth all of his begging!  No, I did not kill a turkey.  I actually missed a HOG, as Jason would put it!  Regardless, the excitement of all my hunts and the time spent with Jason was incredible!  I am hooked!  I went three times this season (in a "luxury" blind) and I can't wait for next year!  I know...it's odd.    I now understand Jason and my family's love for the hunt!

1st hunt: Missed a BIG turkey at 15 yds.  Ugh!
2nd hunt: Heard absolutely nothing, but loved the sound of the wind in the trees!
3rd hunt: Heard several gobblers, but no luck.  A hen flew right in front of us and went straight to the gobbler.  We missed out on the action, if you know what I mean!
Here is a picture of our 4 a.m. hunt.  I know...crazy!
Ugh..awful picture.  We only took it for proof.

When I was browsing through pictures I found this gem.  This is my brother, Jason, my dad and our dog, Alleigh.  I love this picture...I want to frame it somewhere!  They love being in freezing cold water when it's 15 degrees out.  They are obsessed with the hunt...this one is for ducks.

Happy Saturday!

I shall not covet....

It is now an official tradition...the Lutheran Family Home Tour is a must!  Pam, Whitney, Rene, Kelly, and myself piled in the car and booked it from one house to the next.  When I say booked it...I mean Mrs. Rene has a lead foot and I love it!  She already had a game-plan mapped out for us, so we could make the best of our time.  It was so fun to see how people decorate for Christmas and their overall tastes in general.  Not to mention, the size of the homes...we are talking massive (question...who needs three staircases in their home?!  I hope it was a really large family, but I'm guessing not!)  This was our prayer before we began...Lord, please don't allow us to lust over these incredible homes!  I'm still praying about that....:)

The Lynwood home tour was also that afternoon, so my friend, Kristi and I went to a few of the homes on the list.  Ryan and Whitney's home was the first home we visited and it was adorable!  Whitney has such a great decorating style...loved it!  We also visited another house in Ducks Landing...enough said.  No really, it was gorgeous.

The whole day was so fun...I wish we could look in homes every weekend!  It was a great way to get new ideas for my home, so on that note, I'm off to figure out what my next Christmas project will be!

Crash Boom Bang :(

Those were the awful sounds I heard this morning as I was heading out of the garage right into my mom's van. It hasn't been an uneventful day, that's for sure! Not good news for my little Rav-4, but it will live. My mom's Previa...well, let's just say...you can't really tell there's that much damage. It's seen better days...about 15 years ago! Anyways, I can officially say that my Yota is broken in and I'm not happy about it!

Not only did I hit my mom's car, but I didn't get to love on my Little Bit before leaving this morning...she was still snoozing. How did I get so blessed to have a 12 hour a night sleeper?! I'm not complaining...Thank you Lord! Hopefully the rest of this day will start looking up :)!
