Fun with Friends

Ansley and I had a playdate today with my good friend Jessica and her two little girls, Rhiannon and McKinzley. We had a great time catching up and watching our girls play together. Here are a few pictures from today (I definitely learned how hard it is to get 3 little girls to sit somewhat still for a photoop...impossible).

Joy

As most of you know, I dislike mornings unless I am cozied up in my bed...sleeping. However, life has changed a little since our Ansley Harper has arrived. Don't get me wrong she's a wonderful sleeper, but she likes 8 o'clock better than I do. This morning I woke up to the adorable sound of her talking and playing. Somehow, she makes mornings more enjoyable. I will download the video so you can hear for yourself. This is just a tidbit of this morning's conversations.

Crash Boom Bang :(

Those were the awful sounds I heard this morning as I was heading out of the garage right into my mom's van. It hasn't been an uneventful day, that's for sure! Not good news for my little Rav-4, but it will live. My mom's Previa...well, let's just say...you can't really tell there's that much damage. It's seen better days...about 15 years ago! Anyways, I can officially say that my Yota is broken in and I'm not happy about it!

Not only did I hit my mom's car, but I didn't get to love on my Little Bit before leaving this morning...she was still snoozing. How did I get so blessed to have a 12 hour a night sleeper?! I'm not complaining...Thank you Lord! Hopefully the rest of this day will start looking up :)!

Fun times in Chicago

We traveled to Chicago for the marathon, but there was plenty of fun in between. What's a weekend getaway without some great shopping and yummy food?! I was able to get to the Children's Place and Baby Gap for little Ansley Harper, Ikea for my home decor cravings, and we ate at some really great places (Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, Giordano's, and Sorento's). Ahhh...the joys of getaways. The problem is, waiting for the next adventure!

Here are a few pictures from our sightseeing in Chicago!

Hooray for my little hubby!!!!

Jason and the rest of the crew did an extraordinary job running this weekend! They all finished with great times (Jason ran a 3:49...hours that is), Whitney and Lindsey ran their first marathon, and Mark qualified for Boston! Yippee! It was such a huge accomplishment for all of the runners...I definitely applaud them for their discipline in training for it and the perserverance it took to make it through. Needless to say, Jason truly inspires me and I am extremely proud to call him my husband!

Chi-town!!!

Well, we are finally settling in at our hotel here in Chicago. Jason will be running his 3rd Chicago marathon on Sunday morning with Mark Anderson, Mark Coots, Ryan, Whitney, and Lindsey. What a fun trip it has already been! We rode with the Andersons up here...I just love them! They are such a sweet family and I think I could talk with Mrs. Karen about anything! Ryan flew in from Atlanta (he had a work trip) to meet us here in Chicago. However, it didn't really go as planned for him (he flew into Midway instead of O'Hare) and it turned out it was Jason's fault! He finally made it here with a few funny stories to talk about. It is just hilarious to hear about it all. Poor Ryan!
I'll keep you posted until our next adventure here in Chicago.

Ansley Harper: Month 3

You are so precious! Here are some of the highlights of your third month:

*You love your binky! You always want it at bedtime...it's your soother.
*You love to be read to! Your favorite book at the moment is Hermie the Caterpillar. Daddy is your reading buddy at nighttime.
*Bath time is Dad's time too. You love your baths...you never cry.
*We have discovered how hot-natured you are. You have no interest in socks and want as little clothing on as possible. You would rather be naked.
*You have now been to your second wedding (Tracy and Matt's-Sept 6th) at the Ritz Carlton in St. Louis. You were so beautiful in your white and purple dress that we got from your cousin Becky. This was our first trip together as a family loaded to the brim in our little Rav-4. Funny story-I fed you in a 2x2 room used for the internet at the Ritz and mommy had on a dress. Fun times!
*You went swimming for the first time at your Aunt Debbie and Uncle Jim's house for Labor Day. The water was freezing and you didn't want anything to do with it!
*On September 14th, mommy's first day back to work, we went to a cardinal game with Mimi and BB. You were not bothered by the crowd at all! None of us saw much of the game...you were entertaining us the whole time!
*You've been to your first Semo district fair (2 times). The first time was with mommy and daddy, but Uncle Kyle and Aunt Laura wanted to take you the second time. You were so good, even though you were a little sick!
*You had your 2 month appointment with Dr. Hoffman and your first immunizations. You screamed, but got over it pretty quick. Mommy, on the other hand, had a harder time! You were 75% in height and 90% in weight. Needless to say, you are well fed.
*You have started smiling a lot and talking a little. We love to hear you coo!
*You are now sleeping about 12 hours a night. You are one word...amazing!
